How do I access my CNT course after I've earned my CNT
What is the format of the CNT course? The CNT course is 100% online! You will complete 16 online course modules (at your own pace) and associated quizzes, based on the CNT Manual. The modules will be made available in your CCAHM portal after your initial registration has been approved. In addition to completing the online modules, it is recommended that you spend at least 15 hours reading and studying the CNT Manual to prepare for your exams. After passing the live-proctored written exam, you must also register for and successfully complete an online real-time practical exam with a NCCAOM-certified and state-licensed examiner.
What is the registration process? Completing an online registration request and selecting a date for your live-proctored written exam is the first step. An email will be sent with a link to submit required eligibility information. After review and approval, you'll receive an email and can access the online modules via your CCAHM portal. More detailed information about the registration process and eligibility requirements can be found by clicking here.
When and how are course materials distributed? All the information necessary to complete the course and prepare for your live-proctored written exam and online practical exam will be available in your CCAHM portal or course modules upon approval. You can access your portal by logging in to our website and clicking in the "Portal" link in the upper right hand corner of your screen. You can also download the CNT Manual prior to receiving your registration approval in order to begin preparing for the course. If you are not able to access these materials, please contact our office.
How long does the online course take? The online course modules should take approximately 7-8 hours to complete. They do not need to be completed all at once, however. In addition to the course modules, CCAHM recommends candidates spend an additional 15 hours reading and studying the CNT manual independently.
How long is the written exam? You will have 90 minutes to complete your exam on your scheduled exam date and time. There are 60 multiple-choice items to respond to in that time. Please note that ten of the written exam items are pretest items, meaning they are included in the exam for statistical data collection purposes and will not count towards your final grade. These items are distributed randomly throughout the exam. To get the most accurate data, CCAHM will not disclose which of the 60 items are pretest items.
How do I access the written or practical exam? All of the information needed to successfully prepare for, access, and complete your live-proctored written exam can be found in your CCAHM portal. Once you have entered the exam, a proctor will guide you through the process of setting up your cameras and accessing the testing software.
Links and timed schedules for the practical exam are emailed a least one business day before the exam. If you do not see the email in your inbox, be sure to check your spam/junk folders for an email from rposey@ccahm.org.
What do I do if I have trouble accessing the written exam on my exam day? Please review the documents linked in your CCAHM portal several days before your written exam date to ensure the best outcomes. There are several steps you can take in advance to help ensure you will not have technical difficulties on the day of your exam. For more details on who to contact if you have trouble accessing your written exam, see the documents and webpages linked in your CCAHM portal.
If you have trouble accessing the practical exam, be sure to double check that you have the time correct (all exams are scheduled in Eastern Time) and that you have clicked on the correct Zoom link for your session.
How long is the practical exam? Practical Exam sessions are scheduled in three-hour blocks. You will be assigned to a specific 20 minute time slot for your exam within that three-hour window and be notified by email approximately 1-3 days before the practical exam date how to access your time slot.
**Please note that you have 20 minutes to complete your exam. If you do not complete your exam within 20 minutes, your examiner will stop you, your exam will be marked incomplete, and you will have to re-register and pay the registration fee.
What time is my written/practical exam? Please note, all exam times on this website are listed in Eastern Time, as that it the time zone of the CCAHM office. CCAHM recommends using a time zone converter like this one to help you determine the exam time in your specific time zone.
When and how will I be notified of my exam results? Both written and practical exam results will be communicated to candidates via email within ten (10) business days of exam completion. Proctor reports for written exams must be received and reviewed by the CCAHM office before results can be finalized. Practical exams undergo an auditing process before results can be released. All candidates will have access to a breakdown of their practical exam scores by step in their CCAHM portal upon receipt of their practical exam results. Please see CCAHM's Exam Results Policy for more information.
Written Exam
Each scored item on the written exam is worth one point. To pass the CNT written exam, candidates must have a final score of 39 points or higher (out of 50 scored items).
Practical Exam
A candidate must receive a minimum total score of 37 with no zeros to pass the practical exam. If a candidate receives a score of zero at any time during the practical exam (including in the set up of their travel kit), this will result in an automatic failure and the candidate will be required to retake the practical exam at another time.
Howdo I switch written or practical exam dates? Please contact our office to make a request to switch exam dates. Policies and fees for switching exam dates can be found here.
How do I schedule a retake exam? Retake exams can be scheduled by the candidate by contacting our office. The retake fee is $85 for the written exam and $85 for the practical exam.
When and how are certificates sent following course completion? Beginning on October 18, 2021, CNT certificates will be issued digitally via a third-party platform called BadgeCert. A link to your digital badge/certificate will be provided when you receive notification that you have successfully completed the CNT course. For more information about our new digital badges/certificates, please visit our Digital Badges Page on the CCAHM website.
It has been more than 8 weeks since I passed my practical exam and I haven't received a certificate link. What should I do? Please email support@ccahm.org to request that your digital badge/certificate link be reissued to you.
Is verification of CNT completion automatically sent to the NCCAOM or any other organization? No, we do not automatically send verifications. NCCAOM and most state boards require CNT verification to be sent directly from the CCAHM. Please check with your state board to find out what their requirements are for CNT verification. See the Make a Request page to complete a verification request online after successfully completing the CNT course.
How do I access my CNT course after I've earned my CNT? Your course is no longer accessible after you've earned your CNT. Please see the CNT manual here, which is the reference for all practitioners once they've passed CNT.
